Should Lifeguards Prepare And Eat Salads? Yes Indeed And This Is Why!

Should Lifeguards Eat Salads? Yes salads are essential for lifeguards in order to obtain the nutrients and hydration that they need to perform at their best.  Salads are typical low in calories but high in vitamins, nutrients, and fiber.  These are 3 things that our bodies need for energy and recovery while working as a lifeguard in the often extreme sun and water environment that lifeguards work in.

Tomatoes, red bell peppers, and radishes all contain lycopene which is an antioxidant and can help reduce the occurrence of heart disease.  Vitamin C which helps boost your immune system is found in yellow vegetables such as yellow peppers and squash.  Carrots contain beta carotene which helps eyesight and skin, essential for lifeguards. Additives to forego or limit in salads:  Sugar, sodium, salad dressings, oils, and fats. Any way you slice it, lifeguards can’t go wrong eating healthy nutritious salads that are high in vitamins, nutrients, and fiber that limit fats and oils.
