-By George Trosset
COCOA BEACH, FL – On December 24, 2015, Surfing Santas will gather to ride the waves and to share holiday fun in the sun for the seventh annual Surfing Santas event. Over 300 surfers are expected to hit the waves dressed as Santa with even more Santas skydiving onto the beach.
Surfing Santas morning festivities begin at 8:00 a.m. EST, at 2 Minuteman Causeway in Cocoa Beach, Florida. The event is free to the public and offers fun for all ages. Bring your beach chairs, your cameras, and your family.
For additional information, visit the Surfing Santa website at www.surfingsantas.org. Proceeds from donations and sales benefit two local non-profit organizations, Florida Surf Museum and Grind for Life.
In December 2009, George Trosset went surfing dressed as Santa with his son and daughter-in-law dressed as elves. Over the past six years, the event has grown from a family day at the beach into a local community event. In 2014, the fun included nearly 300 Surfing Santas, 18 skydiving Santas, 4000 spectators, and $20,000 in donations for local charities.
