New LIFE™ Patrol Rescue Tube Debuts at Lifeguard Championships!

Lifeguard TV: This is Mike from Lifeguard TV. We’re here with the President of eLifeguard.com®, Mike. And he’s here today to talk about an innovative product he has developed. Good morning President of eLifeguard.com®.

President of eLifeguard.com®: Morning Mike, how are you?

Lifeguard TV: I’m doing good. Tell us a little bit about your product.

President of eLifeguard.com®: Well this is the LIFE™ Rescue Tube, Patrol version. So many of you out there have seen the LIFE™ Rescue Tube, which has been out for about a year now. It’s really famous for it’s LIFE GRIPS™, and also it’s replaceable strap and the durability of the product. And this is a smaller version that we developed. Which we believe, potentially could replace a rescue can. The reason being is that it’s a lot softer than a rescue can. But it still has all of the functions that a rescue can would have, but even more. And so if a person were actually being rescued, and they got bumped with this tube – it would actually be not painful, like it would be if someone were hit with a rescue can.

Lifeguard TV: I really like the way it’s really soft like that. And when I put my fingers in here, I can really grip. It’s like so easy to grip inside there. Is that something new?

President of eLifeguard.com®: Yeah, this is actually a patent pending design that we have developed. It’s been many years of research. And it’s really easy for people to grip. It’s great for reach assist techniques – and also for – just a victim holding onto it, while they’re being rescued.

Lifeguard TV: It looks like it’s pretty durable too. Is it really durable? Will it last longer than typical equipment?

President of eLifeguard.com®: Yeah, as many people out there that are familiar with rescue tubes know – about how they, the vinyl coating wears out really fast – even over just one season. And the lifeguards tend to pick at it, and all that. Well we kept that in mind when we were developing this new technology. And this actually will last up to 10 times longer than the old rescue tubes.

Lifeguard TV: Oh wow, that’s a lot.

President of eLifeguard.com®: Yeah, and we actually have a 3 year warranty on the product. And we actually have it where the strap is replaceable. Which is really cool, because you can switch it out to different colors and different features. But it also – if for some reason the strap wears out before the tube – which is quite possible, since the tubes going to last so long. You can actually switch out the strap, and that really is a great feature.

Lifeguard TV: Yeah, I do really like the way you can just grip on anywhere on the tube. Like if you were to hand it to me, and I needed assistance – it doesn’t matter where I’m gripping it. There’s not like a certain area. I see some other equipment where you only can grab a certain spot.

President of eLifeguard.com®: Yeah, it’s really just a groundbreaking technology. And we’ve actually been selling them all over the United States now. And really most of the agencies that in the past used rescue tubes, are the old style. They’re pretty much all switching over now, and we’ve been working with a lot of the national certification agencies, with introducing this technology. This product – or actually the larger version, the LIFE™ Rescue Tube. It’s a 40 inch tube, is going to be featured in the American Red Cross lifeguard training manual and video. So it’s coming out in January.

Lifeguard TV: Wow. That’s awesome. Where can somebody get this now? On your website, eLifeguard.com®.

President of eLifeguard.com®: Yeah we’ve got this available on eLifeguard.com®, and we’re just – keep checking back with us. Every – almost every week, we’re having new attachments and new features. And a lot of different related products. We actually have a leash, like a surf leash that you can attach to this, which will attach to a belt. It could attach to your leg. Just all kinds of – just totally innovative features that have really never been a part of lifeguarding. We just realize that we’re – in other– Every other industry in the United States and throughout the world, technology is just changing so rapidly. And we notice that the rescue tube has really not changed since the 1960’s when it was first invented. And there was just so much room– That’s why it just made such a leap in advancement so rapidly with this product. Because there have been virtually no changes at all to a rescue tube since the 1960’s.

Lifeguard TV: Yeah, I really like the look at it– The look of it, it’s really nice. And we really do appreciate you coming on to lifeguardtv.com. Thank you very much, Mike.

President of eLifeguard.com®: Alright, well thanks for having me, I appreciate being here.

Lifeguard TV: Thank you. Back to you.
